Message The ECU tries to keep the A/F ratio that is on it's map for a given RPM and load, no more no less. There is no more demand for fuel while cruising or under light load with larger injectors than with smaller.

The difference is under WOT when the smaller injectors cannot supply the fuel necessary to maintain a good A/F ratio, and the larger injectors can.
